Affordability
The costs of healthcare, housing, childcare, food, transportation, and utilities are rising, while purchasing power is falling.
Dignity and security in Arizona cannot be reserved for those who can afford to pay more than ever for everyday needs.
Arizona’s affordability crisis isn’t accidental; it’s manufactured. Corporate home buyers sweep single-family homes off the market. Pharmaceutical companies hike up the cost of prescription drugs, forcing hard-working Arizonans to choose between medicine and rent. Big-box grocery stores pay suppliers to overcharge their competition, leading to food deserts and price gouging on staple items like eggs. Insurance companies deny claims without a human ever evaluating the case. Energy companies give huge discounts to data centers and chip manufacturers and pass the cost on to homeowners.
Representative Simacek has fought for bills that would go after the companies fuelling this crisis. She knows that the only way forward is to respond with real solutions and fight bills that burden real people.
